Live @ La Mediatheque

Based around the duo of singer and harpist Mélanie Virot and Maël Salètes, who plays guitar and the jeli n’goni (a Malian lute), Lyon’s L’Étrangleuse have just released their third album Dans le lieu du non-où. Their hypnotic songs draw on traditional French and African styles, DIY punk, and post-rock, sometimes sounding like a raw, folky Stereolab.
